Homes as art

Digs was founded in 2017. Digs focuses on developing in the best locations in Austin, with a particular focus on 78704. Digs’ homes are customizable for buyers who have specific needs and want to build their dream homes but don’t want to wait several years for a fully custom home.

Brita Wallace, founder of Digs, is an attorney turned infill developer. She earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish from Trinity University and her law degree from the University of Texas. She practiced law for several years before making a transition to real estate development.

Brita believes in homes that are site specific and contribute to the local character of the neighborhood. She collaborates with creative architects that believe in thoughtful, creative home design that takes into account the challenges to designing on smaller, urban lots. She also partners with experienced builders to provide a high-quality product. With the expertise of her team, the end result is well-built homes with practical, open floor plans that utilize the lots in creative ways. Digs’ homes have been featured in Dezeen and Arch Daily.

Brita is the 2023 President of the Austin Infill Coalition and has served on the board since 2020. Brita is a Commissioner on the City of Austin’s Design Commission, appointed by Council Member Pool.
